Game King Game:
Happy Killer

"Happy Killer"... if the name doesn't make you laugh, the introduction animation definitely will. Despite it's name, it's actually a Lode Runner port. To enhance the hilarity, let me quote the "Engrish" from the back of the box:

"Recently, treasure in Holy land was beenstealed. Xialoe decided to find them, for he want to provide he has been grown up, become a real man. He took the cowry that his father left and reached an unknown country inwhich there were many villains. If Xialoe's identity was been founded, everyone will be Xialoe's enemy. So, Xiaole took one and one furious battles with the enemy during he looking for the treasure inone and unacquainted countries."

Those spelling mistakes, missing spaces, and all the rest are exactly as they appear on the box. I really believe that a lot of these companies are using the Google translator for their English. It's all good though, because I never turn down a good laugh.

If you're a looking for a gory game like Doom, Manhunt, or Mortal Kombat, this game's not for you! This game couldn't be more of an oxymoron. Despite the name, and maybe the title screen, it's just a Lode Runner clone. Other than the player having a gun, it's name makes no sense. It's just like any average late 70s, early 80s arcade game.

In this game, you climb ladders, climb across a phone line or something, drop down, and try to collect all of the apples (well "Cowries" as the manual states) scoured through out the level. Like in the original Lode Runner, you can dig holes in the ground to trap the enemies. You can't jump, so you need to aim your drops correctly. The difficulty comes with the enemies, dropping down from nowhere. As well, you can't see all the way below you, so when you try to drop down to grab an apple, there are often enemies down below, so once you land, you'll instantly die. You can't move while falling, so there's nothing you can do about it.

It's not too bad of a game, but definitely can't compete with the original Lode Runner. The name though, definitely makes it worth picking up.
