Lode Runner: The Legend Returns
This is the cuter and better version of the famous C64 game: on every level the goal is to gather all the treasures and escape through the appearing door. The evil monks do everything against this: if they catch you, you're dead, and sometimes they pick up treasures and place them elsewhere. Our hero, fortunately, has a weapon: a digging-ray-gun (or something like that), and he can dig holes with it to his left and to his right. The monks are quite stupid, and they fall into these holes. You can also hold 4 small bombs and one other tool (e.g. spray or drill).
Lode Runner's 1-player mode is at the border of action and puzzle game, but it's so entertaining in 2-player mode that I had no doubt I should place it here. There are a lot of levels (even more can be downloaded) and a level editor, too.
The graphics and the sounds are very good, and the cinematics that introduce the new tools are fantastic.
First-class entertainment, until you run out of levels.
