My Opinion

My opinion is that this game is good. You have to collect all the gold in each level while avoiding the monks who stole it. There are three types of monks in the game. The game is a challenging puzzle game. It has a level editor so you can make your own levels (handy for when you get bored with the levels that came with the game). It has multiplayer (you either play cooperatively and work together to collect all the gold in the level, or you can play deathmatch). The graphics aren't that great (the game is a bit old). This game is fun, but gets boring after awhile. It's addictive until you beat the whole thing because then you know the solutions to all the puzzles, but then again, you'll probably forget some of the solutions after not playing the game for a while, that and you can always build your own levels to play with, or download other peoples' custom levels from the internet to play with. There are 100+ single player levels.




Lode Runner 2 Cheats

To enable the cheat mode in Lode Runner 2, hit Escape while playing the game. Then, when the game's menu comes up, type in "glazed donut". You should then hear a wierd laughing noise. Now click on "Resume Game" in the menu. You should now be able to use the cheats listed below.

Tired of those pesky monks bothering you? Well, this tidbit just might help. I'm sure you have noticed how when a level loads and is displayed on the screen, the game is basically paused until you use one of your movement controls. Hitting one of your movement keys causes you to spawn and causes all of the monks in the level to spawn as well. Instead of hitting one of your movement keys to make yourself spawn, press Escape and on the menu screen type in "glazed donut" to activate the cheat mode. Now click on 'Resume Game' in the menu. Now use the morph cheat (Alt-T). When you use a morph power up, you can morph back into your normal form just by hitting one of your movement controls, or you can wait for the morph power up to wear off. The next thing you should notice is that rather than spawning into the level normally, the monks are frozen at their spawn points! That should help you get those meddling monks out of your hair! NOTE: When you do this, you will still die if you touch a monk!

Lode Runner 2 Easter Eggs

Lode Runner 2 has several easter eggs in it. On one of Lode Runner 2's menu screens, type in the these codes to activate the easter eggs that corrispond to them. 

       kratin'it - Plays a movie.
       goofy - Changes the picture displayed for Wacky World in the Select Level Screen.
       followme - unknown.

While playing, press escape and when the menu screen pops up, type in these four easter egg codes to change the level background. Each of these codes corresponds to a different background picture. After you type in one of these codes, the background of the level you are playing will change. NOTE: The background of a level changed by these easter egg codes will only remaine changed as long as you are playing the level. As soon as you switch to another level the changes will no longer be in effect.

About The Hidden Donuts

In many levels in Lode Runner 2, there are hidden donuts. Presage has hinted that something happens if you collect them all. One way to make this task a bit easier would be to go to my software page and download my Lode Runner 2 Level Extractor program. With it, you can extract all of the levels that come with the game. Once that's done, you will be able to open them in the Lode Runner 2 Level Editor. This is handy because by opening them in the Lode Runner 2 Level Editor you can see where invisible paths and secrets are that you can't see in the game.
